Grand Prix winner in Germany!

Scored 131.04 (2nd) for rideability at his 100 day test in Warendorf!

Icon's sire Ico was the first sire of pinto warmbloods in Germany. He was the pioneer of pinto warmblood acceptance in Germany. Ico was sired by the influential Trakehner stallion Marco Polo who stood in the Netherlands after being imported from Germany. Marco Polo was awarded the Dutch equivalent of elite stallion, Keur Preferent, due to his impressive offspring. Many Marco Polo sons have been highly influential breeders as well as top competition horses. The two most notable Marco Polo sons were the international showjumpers, Recruut and Irco Polo. Marco Polo proved himself to be an influential foundation sire of the Dutch breed with many second and third generation Marco Polo descendants producing many successful sport horses including the Marco Polo grand son and Michael Whitaker's international showjumper, Milton. Other such famous descendants, Concorde and Glendale, also produced a large number of dressage stallions.

Icon's dam, St.Pr.St. Windspiel is derived from the combination of Hannoverian and Trakehner lines ("Widerruf" [Hann] X "Frohsinn" [Trak]). Rheinisches Pferdestammbuch e.V. (the Rhinelander Verband) awarded Icon's dam, Windspiel, the State Premium Mare title, as well as the Verband Silver Medal in 1981. She also went on to win the first prize at the Rhenic elite show.

Icon was the Vice Champion of his 1992 Stallion Approvals in Zweibrücken. While completing his 100 Day Test in Warendorf, Icon's overall score was 120.42 (4th of 19). His rideability score was exceptional at 131.04 (2nd of 19). Illustrating Icon's balanced athletic skills, his jumping score was 111.56 (5th of 19). An impressive score for any solid coloured stallion let alone a coloured one.

Icon is a friendly, willing stallion with much presence. His trot is roomy with excellent bearing and his canter is spacious, regular and well-carried. He has been successful in both Showjumping and Dressage and is currently competing at FEI level in Germany in Dressage.

Icon has presented a number of winners at foal shows and several highly placed participants at foal championships. His first progeny have won riding horse championships. Of these, Indian Summer has been particularly prominent.
